BURMESE MONKS SLAUGHTER AND COVER UP

Posted on Oct 1st, 2007 by Gien : yogic musician Gien
Dear Zaadsters,
Samsaras currents are strong. Ignorance must be met with light. Please read this letter from a friend and respond appropriately in any way you can.

We just got phone call with our sister living in Yangon about a few hours ago.

We saw on BBC world, saying that 200 monks were arrested. The true picture

is far worse!!!!!!!!!

For one instance, the monastery at an obscure neighborhood of Yangon, called

Ngwe Kyar Yan (on Wei-za-yan-tar Road, Yangon) had been raided early this

morning.

A troop of lone-tein (riot police comprised of paid thugs) protected

by the military trucks, raided the monastery with 200 studying monks.

They systematically ordered all the monks to line up and banged and

crushed each one's head against the brick wall of the monastery. One

by one, the peaceful, non resisting monks, fell to the ground,

screaming in pain. Then, they tore off the red robes and threw them

all in the military trucks (like rice bags) and took the bodies away.

The head monk of the monastery, was tied up in the middle of the

monastery, tortured , bludgeoned, and later died the same day, today.

Tens of thousands of people gathered outside the monastery, warded off

by troops with bayoneted rifles, unable to help their helpless monks

being slaughtered inside the monastery. Their every try to forge

ahead was met with the bayonets.

When all is done, only 10 out of 200 remained alive, hiding in the

monastery. Blood stained everywhere on the walls and floors of the

monastery.

Please tell your audience of the full extent of the fate of the monks

please please !!!!!!!!!!!!

'Arrested' is not enough expression. They have been bludgeoned to

death !!!!!!

but what is the appropriate response?  The government and media in the US has been building up to make China the new bad guy, since the public isn't afraid enough of the “terrorist threat” anymore.  But what good is a bigger, more horrible war, except to those monsters who stand to make huge profits from killing people?

what can *I* do?  I can pray for the monks, and for those soldiers who have been brainwashed to the extent that they ignore their own conscience and can commit such atrocities!  But… is that enough?

Hi Stacy,

I don't know just yet….I just heard about this a few minutes ago but felt so compelled that I needed to post it to raise awareness at the very least. I just want to encourage people to think creatively for now….I have the questions but not the answers….through our mutual discussions, I am hoping a natural solution may arise.

the answer is simple

the question is the heart expression
the heart tears
are the messenger

…and this simplicity becomes complex…
only because we have so many obstructions..

love does not wage war on animosity
the very nature of Love
is the antithesis of this

animosity can never survive love…

we need to be simple
pure
love

we need to start with our thoughts…
pay attention to our words
our actions…

each and every being…

if we are free of obstruction
the power magnified is beyond anything believable

if even one being achieves this
mountains will be moved

love is a furnace

aah we lose our little selves
lose the boundaries
causing suffering and pain

this is a journey we must all take

there is no time to lose!

we are each gifted with the tools required
each of us has undertaken to learn
how to become love incarnate
each of us has undertaken a mission
to aid beings on beautiful earth
along this path

aah the messenger speaks
pay attention
to the heart

passivity is no longer possible…

Thank you Gien for this post.

Independent news seems to be so important in order to gather a fuller picture of this situation. I have signed the petition on faith that it will make a difference. I am worried that this may not be the best action or enough to make a difference and that it will bring more war as Stacy has mentioned. Still I was compelled to proceed with signing and sending the petition forward. I no sooner completed this task when I read that Bush is preparing to attack Iran. How do we put the same kind of pressure on the US government to stop these proposed actions? I have many more questions than answers.  It is with a heavy heart that I shall go for a walk under the trees and reground with positive, peaceful energy - enough for all - for now and beyond.

'inaction is a weapon of mass destruction' … I wondered why is it that no country, engaged in conflict in Irak, took any stand regarding situation in Burma. The conclusion seems to be obvious but horrid: there is no oil in Burma … only buddhist monks, so why bother.
That could have been a great chance for the United States and their allies to redeem and prove that they do value human life and human rights above anything. the wolrd of politics is still at reddish meme.
with compassion and symphaty for Burmese monks …

no matter the atrocities, I refuse to accept this as justification for more war.
